Bio:

My main research theme is related to the application of intelligent system technology to practical problems and the development of methods for building knowledge-intensive software applications.
Generally, my research interest is broad and I have been working on a number of topics over the years, including recommender systems technology, knowledge-based systems development, constraint-based systems, semantic web applications and web mining, special topics in operations research and applications of AI planning as well as on specific software engineering problems in the area of the development and debugging of declarative programs.
Among others, my research has been published in IEEE TKDE, Artificial Intelligence, JAIR, UMUAI, ACM TOIS, ACM TKDD, ACM TIST, ACM TiiS, ACM TMIS, Journal of Web Semantics, Journal of Human Computer Studies, Journal of Systems and Software, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Journal of Retailing, Annals of Operations Research, and in the proceedings of IJCAI, AAAI, RecSys, ICDM, CIKM, WSDM or ISWC.


Guandong Xu , Professor

Bio:

Dr Guandong Xu is a full Professor in the School of Computer Science and Advanced Analytics Institute at University of Technology Sydney. He received MSc and BSc degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and PhD in Computer Science. Before he joined UTS in 2012, he took various research positions at European and Australian universities. His research has received research funding from Australian Research Council, government agencies, and industry corporates totalling over $5.5M in past years. He is recipients of a number of awards from Academia and Industry, including 2018 Top 10 Analytics Leaders by Australian Analytics Professional Peak Body (IAPA), 2018 UTS Vice-Chancellor Research Excellence Award Finalist, 2018 Australian Computer Society Disruptor Award Finalists, 2018 Australasian Database Conference Best Student Paper Award, 2017 NSW Winner of Marketing Excellence Award in Customer Research, 2016 BigInsights Data Innovation Award Winner in Customer Insights.
